Put "Menu Pronunciation" in the subject. If something went wrong, say which dish name or menu it was, and include your iPhone model, your iOS version and the app version.

The quickest way is the Bug button in the app, on the home screen, on the menu list and at the top of every dish. Say or type what went wrong and tap Email support: your mail app opens an email to us with the screen you were on, the app version, your iPhone model and iOS version already filled in. Nothing is sent until you press Send.

Refunds

Menu Pronunciation is sold by Apple on the App Store, so Apple handles refunds. To ask for one, go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple Account, find Menu Pronunciation and choose Request a refund. Apple's page explains how: support.apple.com/118223. We cannot issue refunds ourselves, but we are glad to hear what did not work for you.

What the app does

Common questions

Does it work without internet?

Yes. Reading the menu and saying the names happen on your iPhone. Only the general picture of a dish, which comes from Wikipedia, plus Ask about this dish and Hear it said where your version has them, need a connection.

It found no dish names on my menu

Hold the phone closer, with the names in focus and in good light, then tap Scan again. Menus printed in Japanese, Chinese or Korean script are not read yet; you can still type a name you know.

The voice sounds wrong

The app uses the voices built into iOS. If a language sounds robotic, you can download a higher-quality voice for it in your iPhone's Accessibility settings. If a name is said or respelled wrongly, please tell us which one: the Bug button is the fastest way.

Your data

Menu Pronunciation has no account and keeps no history. Your menu photos are read on the phone and never sent anywhere. The privacy policy lists exactly what leaves the phone, and when.
